Move over, golf! Pickleball is the hottest sport in the world for cause-related fund-raising. One new example — in the Hudson Valley of New York state, Nate Smith from the Town of Poughkeepsie Recreation Department, and David Steigelfest of PB Heart — www.pbheart.com — created a double-elimination pickleball tournament. The entry fees were donated to address ALS. On a beautiful Fall day, the event took place at Hagantown Park, a locale that has hosted community events for decades.
